Guns N' Roses Live in Guwahati

The concert brought you here. Stay longer.

For the first time in anyone's memory, a band of this size has looked at a map of India and chosen Guwahati. Not Mumbai. Not Delhi. Not Bengaluru first. Guns N' Roses are playing the city on November 17, 2026 — and in doing so, they've done something Northeast India has quietly needed for years: they've pointed the rest of the country at a place that most people only know as a layover.

If you have a ticket to that show, you are already making a decision to travel here. The flight is booked or you are booking it. What we want to tell you is this: you are standing at the entrance to the most extraordinary region in India, and leaving on the 18th would be like flying to the Himalayas and staying in the airport.

Guwahati sits at the edge of everything. Three hours west is Meghalaya — the wettest place on earth, where rivers run clean enough to drink from and living root bridges have been growing for five hundred years. Four hours east is Kaziranga National Park, home to two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhinoceros. The Brahmaputra — one of the great rivers of Asia — runs straight through the city. Kamakhya Temple, one of the most powerful pilgrimage sites in India, sits on a hill above it.

November is the best time to be here. The monsoon is over. The national parks are fully open. The air is clear and cool — mornings feel like a different country from the heat you came from. Kaziranga's grasses are still tall from the rains, which means the animals are moving, and the sunrise jeep safaris in that first week of November are among the finest wildlife experiences in Asia.

Here is what three or four days around the concert looks like in practice. Arrive November 14 or 15. Spend a day in Guwahati — river cruise on the Brahmaputra, Kamakhya Temple at dawn before the crowds, the old city's market streets. On the 16th, drive to Kaziranga: four hours on good road, lodge in the buffer zone, evening wildlife walk. Early morning safari on the 17th — rhinos at close range, elephants moving through the mist, occasionally a tiger if the week is going your way. Drive back to Guwahati in the afternoon. Concert that night. Stay the 18th, fly home on the 19th.

Or go the other direction. Guwahati to Shillong is three hours. Shillong to Cherrapunji, the rainiest place on earth, is another hour. Add Dawki — a river so clear you can see the riverbed twenty feet below the surface of the water — and you have four days that will not resemble anything you have done before.

ClearEast Trip is based in this region. We run small groups and private journeys through Assam, Meghalaya, Bhutan, Sikkim, and the rest of the Northeast. We know which forest rest house is worth it and which is not, which guide actually knows the birds by call, which tea estate will let you walk with the plucking team at six in the morning. We can build you two days or ten days around your return ticket.

Message us on WhatsApp with your return date. We will send you a plan the same day.

Local tip

November is prime season for Kaziranga — book safari slots at least 3 weeks in advance as they fill quickly.
