About This Journey

Journey Overview

Your Assam adventure begins the moment you land at Guwahati Airport, where your private AC vehicle takes over — no logistics, no guesswork. This Kaziranga tour package covers four nights and five days of contrasts that few journeys anywhere in India can match. On day two you roll into Kaziranga National Park, the UNESCO-listed grassland that shelters the world's largest population of Indian one-horned rhinos. An afternoon jeep safari through the Western Zone puts you face to face with these prehistoric giants in open floodplain habitat, while wild water buffalo and swamp deer graze in the tall elephant grass around them. Dawn on day three belongs to the elephant safari — you ride above the reed beds as rhinos go about their morning undisturbed, a perspective no jeep can replicate. By day four the Brahmaputra claims you: a government ferry from Nimati Ghat slides you onto Majuli island, one of the world's largest river islands, where Vaishnava Satras have kept alive devotional mask dance and music for six centuries. The Mising tribe's bamboo villages, the paddy-field silence, the monks at Dakhinpat Satra — this Majuli island trip is a different kind of Assam wildlife tour package, one for the soul as much as the senses. Prices from ₹19,000 per person.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Kaziranga National Park open for safaris?

Kaziranga National Park is open from November to April each year. The park closes from May through October because the annual Brahmaputra monsoon floods the grasslands — which is ecologically vital for the rhinos but makes visitor access impossible. If you are planning a Kaziranga tour package, book between November and March for the best wildlife sightings and cooler weather. The park officially reopens each year around the first week of November.

What animals can I expect to see on a Kaziranga safari?

Kaziranga is best known for the Indian one-horned rhino safari experience — with over 2,600 rhinos, sightings are almost guaranteed. Beyond rhinos you are likely to spot wild water buffalo, swamp deer (barasingha), hog deer, and Asian elephants. The Central Zone also offers tiger and leopard sightings, as Kaziranga has one of India's highest tiger densities. Over 480 bird species have been recorded here, making it equally exciting for birdwatchers.

How do you reach Majuli island, and how long does the ferry take?

Majuli island is accessed by government ferry from Nimati Ghat, approximately 14 km from Jorhat town and about 2 hours' drive from Kaziranga. The ferry crossing on the Brahmaputra takes roughly 1 to 1.5 hours depending on river conditions. Your ClearEast Trip package includes all transfers by private AC vehicle to Nimati Ghat and the government ferry tickets in both directions — no separate booking or coordination needed.

What is the best time to visit Assam for this trip?

November to February is the ideal window for this Assam wildlife tour package. Days are cool and clear (12–22°C), the park is fully open, rhino and elephant sightings are excellent, and Majuli's wetlands are alive with migratory birds. March and April are slightly warmer but still good. Avoid May to October — Kaziranga is closed, the Brahmaputra runs high, and heavy rainfall makes travel uncomfortable throughout the region.

What is included in the Kaziranga & Majuli Explorer package, and what does it cost?

The 4-night, 5-day package includes accommodation, daily breakfast and dinner, all transfers by private AC vehicle, a Brahmaputra sunset cruise in Guwahati, jeep safaris in the Western and Central Zones of Kaziranga, an elephant safari (subject to availability), the Nimati Ghat–Majuli ferry both ways, and Satra visits on Majuli with a local guide. Pricing starts at ₹19,000 per person for a group of six, ₹23,000 for four, and ₹29,500 for two. Kaziranga park entry fees are paid directly at the gate.

Important to Know

  • ·Kaziranga National Park is open November to April; the park closes during the monsoon season (May–October) due to Brahmaputra flooding.
  • ·Elephant safari slots are limited and subject to availability — we recommend requesting these at booking.
  • ·Majuli accommodation is rustic (bamboo cottages and homestays). Hot water, electricity, and Wi-Fi may be intermittent — this is part of the island experience.
  • ·Ferry schedules at Nimati Ghat are subject to river conditions; timings are confirmed locally on the day.
  • ·Departures on Day 5 are from Jorhat Airport (JRH) or Jorhat Railway Station — plan flights after 1:00 PM to allow comfortable ferry crossing.
