About This Journey

Journey Overview

Seven days is the sweet spot for Sikkim and Darjeeling, and this Sikkim & Darjeeling Grand Experience tour package gives you all of it without a wasted hour. You arrive at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport and begin the scenic drive up through the Teesta River valley into Gangtok — a city that rewards slow evenings on MG Marg as much as its monasteries reward early mornings. Day three takes you to Tsomgo Lake at 12,400 feet, where the silence is absolute and the water reflects whatever the sky is doing. Nathula Pass at 14,140 feet awaits subject to permit. Then the route shifts west to Pelling, a quieter town framed by Kanchenjunga, where the Pemayangtse Monastery and Rabdentse Ruins sit almost without crowds. Day five closes with the drive across to Darjeeling — Tiger Hill mornings, the toy-train loops of Batasia, tea gardens that smell like the idea of hill stations. Your 6 nights, 7 days Sikkim Darjeeling itinerary wraps with a smooth departure from Siliguri. Priced from ₹19,900 per person, this group trip Sikkim Darjeeling is built to feel unhurried.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to visit Sikkim and Darjeeling?

October to mid-December and March to May are the most reliable windows. Skies clear after the monsoon in October, giving crisp Kanchenjunga views from Pelling and Tiger Hill. Spring brings rhododendrons in bloom along the Darjeeling ridgelines. The monsoon months of July to September bring frequent landslides on mountain roads — travel delays are common and Tsomgo Lake may close.

Is Nathula Pass included in the itinerary?

The Day 3 excursion to Tsomgo Lake includes an attempt at Nathula Pass (14,140 ft), but the visit is subject to permit availability and weather conditions. Permit charges are not included in the package price. Nathula remains closed every Monday and Tuesday. Your driver will assist with the permit process in Gangtok, and ClearEast Trip will advise in advance if conditions make the visit unlikely.

Where does the trip start and end — do I need to book flights to Bagdogra?

The trip starts and ends at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), both of which serve the Darjeeling-Sikkim region. Pickup and drop are included in the package. Most travellers from Bengaluru and other metros fly into Bagdogra — a 2-hour flight with direct connections. On Day 7, you are transferred early to Bagdogra or NJP in time for morning departures. Airfare and train tickets are not included.

What kind of accommodation is provided on this trip?

The package covers 6 nights in well-maintained 2-star-plus hotels across Gangtok (3 nights), Pelling (1 night), Darjeeling (1 night), and Siliguri (1 night). Rooms come with private bathrooms, geysers, and basic heating. ClearEast Trip shares specific hotel options before your trip based on your group size and preference. Upgrades to better properties are possible at additional cost on request.

What is not included in the Sikkim Darjeeling Grand package price?

Lunch and dinner are excluded throughout — only daily breakfast is covered. Entry tickets to all sightseeing places, yak rides, ropeway charges, and toy train rides are paid separately. The Nathula Pass permit carries additional charges. Personal expenses — tips, laundry, room service, and any incidentals — are on your account. Travel insurance is strongly recommended and is not part of the package.

Important to Know

  • ·Nathula Pass visit depends on permit availability and weather conditions
  • ·Nathula Pass remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
  • ·Zero Point visit depends on weather and road conditions
  • ·Guests must carry a valid government ID for permits
  • ·Day 5 is slightly packed — same-day return suits evening departures
  • ·Travel in hill regions is subject to weather and road conditions
