About This Journey
Journey Overview
Your Darjeeling & Kalimpong tour package from India begins the moment you land at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) — a two-hour flight from Bengaluru that deposits you at the foot of the Eastern Himalayas. Over 4 nights and 5 days, you trace a route that most travellers miss: starting in Kalimpong, the quieter hill town of flower nurseries, Deolo Hill sunsets, and the ochre-walled Durpin Monastery, before a scenic back-road drive through Lamahatta Eco Park and Tinchuley viewpoints delivers you into Darjeeling proper. Here, the Darjeeling Kalimpong itinerary shifts gear — a pre-dawn Tiger Hill sunrise, the steam-wreathed Ghoom Monastery, the Batasia Loop, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, and tea garden walks fill the days in the way only this altitude can. The final night in Siliguri is a quiet, practical masterstroke: it means your Bagdogra departure is a calm morning transfer rather than a nerve-fraying hill-road sprint. Priced from ₹14,000 per person, this is the Darjeeling hill station tour package that pairs perfectly with long weekends out of any Indian metro.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best time to visit Darjeeling and Kalimpong?
March to May is ideal — the skies are clear, rhododendrons are in bloom, and Kanchenjunga is frequently visible from Tiger Hill. October and November are the next best window, with crisp post-monsoon air and excellent visibility. Avoid June to early September when road conditions in the hills can be unpredictable. December and January are cold but offer a quieter, frost-tinged atmosphere if you enjoy winter mountains.
How do I get to Darjeeling and Kalimpong from Bengaluru or other metro cities?
Fly into Bagdogra Airport (IXB) from Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, or Kolkata — flights are typically 2 to 2.5 hours. Alternatively, take a train to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station, which is well-connected across India. From Bagdogra or NJP, ClearEast Trip arranges your pickup directly. The package covers all transfers from arrival to your Bagdogra departure drop.
Is the Darjeeling Toy Train included in the package?
The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway — the famous UNESCO-listed Toy Train — is not included in the base package, as the charges are separate and depend on availability. Your guide can arrange it on the spot. The Batasia Loop, where the narrow-gauge track makes its famous spiral, is included as a sightseeing stop and gives you a great photo opportunity with the train even if you skip the ride.
Can we visit Nathula Pass from Darjeeling on this trip?
Nathula Pass is near Gangtok in Sikkim, not Darjeeling, so it is not on this itinerary. A Protected Area Permit issued through a registered travel agency is required for Nathula, and it requires a separate Sikkim-based itinerary. If you want to combine Nathula with Darjeeling and Kalimpong, ClearEast Trip can design a custom Sikkim extension — just ask over WhatsApp before booking.
What is included and excluded in the Darjeeling & Kalimpong tour package?
Included: 4 nights accommodation (2N Kalimpong, 1N Darjeeling, 1N Siliguri), daily breakfast, Bagdogra airport pickup and drop, all sightseeing drives as per the itinerary, and driver allowance, fuel, toll, and parking fees. Not included: flights, lunch and dinner, entry tickets to sites, Toy Train or ropeway charges, personal expenses, and travel insurance. Pricing starts at ₹14,000 per person for a group of six.
